I was wondering too if it is injected at that cold temp whats the damage and there will be damage, or is it needed to be 98.6 or there abouts and then become degraded and then useless ?
Too many unknowns.

The vaccine is warmed up prior to injection. It can be kept at warmer temperatures for a period of time. Just not for days and weeks.

Kind of like food in the fridge. It doesn’t go bad the moment you take it out and warm it up. But there are definitely some things you wouldn’t want to eat after leaving it out for a few days.

It’s not injected at the storage temperature.

Long term storage requires very low temperatures. Short term storage it’s fine in a freezer. At body temperatures, the mRNA has a half life of a few hours.

So when you’re manufacturing it or shipping it long distances, you keep it super cold. When you’ve distributed it to Walgreens, they store it in a regular freezer. When they give it to you, it’s already warming up and going to body temperature. Inside your body, the lipid shell dissolves upon cell membrane encounter and the mRNA breaks down in a day or two, leaving no trace behind except an immune system that can now more effectively respond to COVID-19.
