A band that was a two hit wonder. Best sax in music.
A&P has provided me
with the world’s smallest turkey.
Didn’t really get into their other stuff but I do play this song many times each Christmas season.
Poor Patty the lead singer. Smoked herself to death at age 40, 24 years ago.
Best sax? Oh, my, no.
Meet Candy Dulfer.

(She lets loose at about the 2 minute mark)
And if you really like that, here’s a concert where everyone in the band gets to go to town, including the most amazing trumpeter:

(In that last video, I’m suspicious that Laura Ingraham has a hidden talent that she uses a pseudonym to work on.)
Poor Vaquero, you must live in San Fran, where weed is ok and cigarettes are verboten.
When I worked retail back in the mid-90’s this song was in the Christmas rotation, never knew who sang it. Finally was able to figure it out a few years back. This song, “The Christmas SoOng by Nat King Cole, and “O Holy Night” are always on my Christmas playlist.
This song, “The Christmas Song by Nat King Cole, and “O Holy Night”
sorry for the fat fingers...
Bass player is now with the B52’s as I recall.
Maybe a 3-hit wonder. They did the theme song for a kids tv show called “Square Pegs.”
But my favorite song of theirs was “No Guilt.” Favorite lyric: “I told them I don’t even KNOW anybody in Toronto.”
I had only known their first small hit “I Know What Boys Like”, which was in heavy rotation on MTV in those days.
I don’t do either. Anymore. I quit cigs at age 27, after 13 years not because I worried about my future health but because I was getting in shape for hunting in very mountainous terrain and was huffing and puffing climbing those hills. Some people smoke into their 80s. It’s genetic. Her genetics were not suited for her smoking for extended periods.
So she lived fast, died young and perhaps left a good looking corpse. Perhaps not.
You play you pay(well sometimes). No criticism, just a statement of fact.
I remember that show on CBS, where Sarah Jessica Parker, Amy Linkler, and Tracy Nelson(daughter of Ricky Nelson), got their start.
Don't forget to polish your halo.
Really cute song. I never appreciated it until I listened to all the lyrics.
The singer is kinda “Blondie-esque” in sound and style.

Oh, wow, I forgot it was Sarah Jessica Parker!
Another good one is Christmas at Kmart by Root boy slim.
