That’s just silly; go ahead and try to make a law that someone can’t call themselves a ‘Nazi’, good grief.
You can change your name to Adolph Hitler, or tattoo a swastika on your forehead or found your own Nazi party and no one can do a damned thing about it (not that *you* would, but anyone can call themselves anything they want.)
The elites thought they could ‘use’ Hitler and the Nazis, that’s how he became chancellor; of course they quickly found out who was controlling who. Franz Von Papen’s autobiography was very interesting in seeing this from the perspective of the ruling class who thought they could channel and harness these energetic thugs.
But here's the deal: I don't have go along with it... If I stick feathers under my skin I'm still NOT a bird. And these idiots can wear a swastika and their still powerless losers.
You're right that we probably can't fine them for using the name - but if Germany were to copywrite the name - maybe we could. YOU can't call yourself Donald Duck without hearing from Disney and their lawyer...
There are bad things happening in our country - we have REAL enemies out there... and a fake "Paul Warfield Tibbets Jr." is no more a threat then fake Nazis. Nazis were a horror BECAUSE THEY WERE THE ESTABLISHMENT IN GERMANY. NOT because they were hateful assh*les.
Chinese spies infiltrating our government and media ARE a real threat. A threat that's REAL today. Not yesterday's threat... Folks walking around without the money to fill the tank of a plane - no less buy or fly one - are NOT a threat.
The Japanese were a threat 75 years ago - they are NOT a threat today. YOU fight the threat of 'your time' you don't fight the threat of 60 or 70 years ago.
White racists were a threat in the Jim Crow South. They had establishment power and controlled the culture. They are NOT a threat today. There are political reasons some people want to fight yesterday's enemy, but it's a mistake because:
Resources are scarce and evil is an abundant shape-shifter.
