About the speculation that our aircraft carriers are being deployed to defend the continental US from attack (China, UN?) Apparently it’s not unusual for the carriers to be operating off of the US coasts at this time of year.

The positioning of those carriers is comforting. The map with the big red "gash" down the middle (as someone described it) means that the next Civil War would be a two-front war -- East/West vs Flyover Land. Having those carriers there gives the coastal folks something additional to worry about.
