According to Parkes, when they met up, the lab worker wanted more money than was being offered, and refused to hand the sample over. The DS agent tried to grab it from him, they got into a tussle and the DS agent fatally shot the lab worker. In the process the sample fell to the ground and was smashed, and the virus was released.

I don’t buy it. A virulent strain would not be handed over to someone like they were getting a milkshake at the drive thru window. It would likely be in a snapped tight plastic tube, with a couple of layers of wrap/packaging around it. It would still be no bigger than a bracelet gift box. Even if it were stamped on by foot, it would still be contained, methinks.
Scavino posts vid of POTUS coming and going from rallies. I like when he thanks the pilots.

I thought that part of the story was weak as well. I had a professor once that admitted he had once smuggled a vial full of malaria out of Thailand and smuggled it into the United States to study it. He taped it to his chest so it would stay warm. Thought it was very funny. So crazy stuff happens, but I agree with you it wouldn’t be in a simple glass vial.
A worker would be coming out with it in the smallest concealable expediently obtained container they could find, and they probably had to transfer it in the lab so a marked/catalogued sample didn’t show up as missing.
