American products started taking over the world in the fifties and sixties because women were let in on designing tools they used - from appliances on up...

And the problem with letting the people who use something have a say in how its designed is what exactly?

They know what makes it easier to use and what features they want on it instead of someone else who doesn't use it add things that nobody is going to use anyways.
