We take 27.5 mg of zinc a day from three separate forms, but I think that is more than enough. Zinc prevents copper absorption.
Unless infected, don’t go high on it. Likewise, select forms of zinc help reduce cold infection by up to six days, but the level of zinc those studies suggest is at least 70 mg a day, to rather higher doses. It is only okay for select days—not as a preventative measure at high doses.
