Fries are relatively high in oxalates, a plant poison that serves to protect potatoes from insects, worms, etc. and can lead to kidney damage in humans. But the antidote for oxalate is to eat calcium with the oxalate as they will bind together and be removed as waste from the body. And ice cream has calcium. So as crazy as this sounds, the Fries/Ice Cream is a health food.

I have an overactive parathyroid, that causes my body to overproduce calcium. My calcium levels are high every time I have bloodwork. Years ago they put me on calcium supplements, but I ended up having to stop taking them once they discovered the problem. I like fries, but rarely have them. And I like ice cream, but wouldn’t like them together. When we were kids, we used to peel potatoes, put salt on them, and eat them raw.
