We listened to Dennis Prager today. He is encouraging all Californians to violate all of Newsome's order. Good.

Does anyone else remember the cops going after a lone surfer during California’s first lockdown? They sent a boat to herd him into deputies waiting on the beach. Of course the deputies weren’t wear masks when they arrested the ‘super spreader surfer’.

Good for you! Looks like the surfers at Huntington Beach don’t have time for Newsome’s nonsense. Beaches, parks, hiking trails, etc are not closed. The new order affects businesses almost exclusively.

I was under the impression you weren’t even allowed to drive unless it was “essential”.....Isn’t this a “stay at home” order?

A really good brewery in Anaheim posted to Twitter that they are open for takeout, and to ask about their French laundry menu available only in person from 11:00 am to 1130 pm. I’ll be there this weekend.

No, only bars, restaurants, theaters, barbers, etc are closed. Retail shopping, groceries, etc are open but are supposed to limit capacity. Parks, beaches and other outdoor recreation isn’t limited at all. They call it a “stay at home order”, but there is no enforceable restriction beyond those businesses that are closed or limited. “Stay at home” is more of a recommendation. It’s actually a great time to go to the beach. Just bring your own drinks/food or grab take out, as that is all the restaurants can sell.
I’ll order more takeout during this shutdown, as I want my favorite restaurants to be here when this is over. I will also not change my shopping. In fact I’m trying to spend more locally to help the stores getting screwed by Newsom.

Oh, didn’t I hear you couldn’t ride a motorcycle? I have a condo and a motorcycle out there. Cancelled my flight because I didn’t think I could ride.

I used to go to Huntington all the time years ago. Then I noted in the 80s and early 1990s things started changing and started seeing thousands of low life, gang types, homeless and assorted yahoos hanging out in beach cities. Then it became more and more crowded in summer, parking lots at capacity, having to park miles from the beach. And the locals were going nuts. Then all the fees/prices skyrocketed, then no fires, no hotdog cookouts, no beer and on and on.
I eventually stopped going to the beach and I did not miss it. My last 20 years in CA, I never went to the beach once.
In S. CA if ya like obnoxious tourist, crowds, gangs, massive traffic, lots of cops, parking issues etc, you'll love it.

I was out and about all over town for about 2 hours yesterday. People and traffic everywhere. Looks like no one is paying attention to Newsom. ;)
