I regularly use stuff that has expired with caution of course....with canned tomato products I boil them for at least 10" before using them...

sugar and salt should remain safe forever if kept cool and dry and away from pests....

If you add enough liquor to them you get stewed tomatoes.

sugar and salt should remain safe forever if kept cool and dry and away from pests.... During the 1980s, we started decorating our Christmas tree with candy canes. We stored them away and used them again the next year. And then the next year. Even now, I have a significant batch of candy canes that are well over 30 years old. When one happens to break, we eat it and it tastes just the same as a brand new one.
