Try this. Muse, Uprising.
I’ll stop at this. I grew up in the 70’s and 80’s. My the songs I could post.

I like The Temptations-Ball Of Confusion-1970
(it was a mere 50 years ago, after all...)

People moving out, people moving in
Why, because of the color of their skin
Run, run, run but you sure can’t hide
An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth
Vote for me and I’ll set you free
Rap on, brother, rap on
Well, the only person talking about loving their brother is the preacher
And it seems nobody’s fit to study learning but the teacher
Segregation, determination, demonstration, integration
Aggravation, humiliation, obligation to our nation
Ball of confusion
Oh yeah, that’s what the world is today
The sale of pills are at an all time high
Young folks walking round with their heads in the sky
The cities aflame in the summer time
And oh, the beat goes on
Evolution, revolution, birth control, the sound of soul
Shooting rockets to the moon, kids growing up too soon
Politicians say more taxes will solve everything
And the band played on
Round and around and around we go
Where the world’s headed, nobody knows
Great googa-mooga, can’t you hear me talking to you
Just a ball of confusion
Oh yeah, that’s what the world is today
Fear in the air, tension everywhere
Unemployment rising fast, the Beatles new record’s a gas
And the only safe place to live is on an Indian reservation
And the band played on
Eve of destruction, tax deduction, city inspectors, bill collectors
Mod clothes in demand, population out of hand, suicide, too many bills
Hippies moving to the hills,
people all over the world are shouting, end the war
And the band played on
Thanks for posting this. I am not a metal afficionado; but right after 9/11 these guys put out an album “Glorious Burden”, very patriotic, a la Iron Maiden ‘battle of britain’. I bought the album and listened as often as my ears and sensibilities could stand.
I like this ‘dystopia’ piece. Again not my kind of sound, but as metal goes, these guys are good.
Have you listened to the Iced Earth album- The Glorious Burden? Also his solo album Sons of Liberty?
Dark times and music...
This was a new release this year (rock/alternative)... and man the lyrics totally fit, so I made this fan video for the song.
The band liked my video and made a comment.

So true. Man, I haven’t listened to Iced Earth in ages.
“Joan of Arc” by In This Moment is also pretty applicable right now.
