Moose? In Utah?! Are they native or brought in? Some decades ago I was surprised by Elk in New Mexico. But moose in Utah? Really surprising.

There was a moose reported in New Mexico a few years back in the northern part of the state.

Moose were reintroduced into Colorado in the 70’s. They are everywhere like rats on stilts now. Big, quiet and randomly dangerous or innocuous.

The deputies say it you hit one it can scrape the entire roof, posts and all, off your vehicle. I've been lobbying for more harvest.

Moose are very plentiful here in North Eastern Utah. They wander thru town all the time, just meandering down the streets and alleys, people scattering out of the way. Often a cow and calf but bulls also.
A while back a cow was cruising the traffic circle at front of the hotel the wife works at and was about to come into the lobby! The auto doors opened and it looked like she was gonna come right on in, but thankfully she demurred. You really can't "herd" moose around.
