coronavirus pandemic’s early days when a regional stay-at-home order goes into effect late Sunday night, Dec. 6, after state officials said Saturday only 12.5% of adult intensive care beds were available in the area.
Gov. Gavin Newsom, in an announcement Thursday, said the state would enact such orders by region when available ICU bed availability fell to 15% or lower. The regionwide order will go into effect at 11:59 p.m. on Sunday.
The Southern California region, under the state order, includes Imperial, Inyo, Los Angeles, Mono, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara and Ventura counties.

Meant it as an insult, she’ll probably take it as a compliment.
Democrats continue to attack their own- putting in tyrannical edicts, and driving those in blue states to financial ruin, while those in red states are free and remain prosperous.
A friend I spoke with tonight had 18 for Thanksgiving.....one of which works in hospital directly with Covid Patients. He scrubbed before leaving hospital, took a shower at home and joined the rest of the gathering. All who were there knew he worked with covid patients but quite willing to be together anyway.
The United States is on track to have fewer people die this year than last year. They are shifting deaths from other diseases into the Covid count.
Kinda odd that fewer deaths this year are supposedly maxing out ICU units in corrupt dem states.
Yet where I live few wear masks outside and no one glares that I’ve ever seen. There are cases and a few deaths a week in the county, but people generally have not lost their minds.
That's the goal of the Democrat party, isn't it?
If this isn't their aim, can anyone explain what they would be doing differently?

I NEVER WEAR a mask in public since day 1. EVER. The only time I do is when I go to stores. and that’s just to avoid the hassle of the scene they make..and I’m in L.A.

Everyone I know that’s had it has had mild symptoms. Usually the big one is loss of taste and smell. I have a relative with COPD that got it and is fine too.
The order says no gatherings of anyone from different households. It also says retail stores have to be at 20% capacity. So airlines that are flying in or out of SoCal can’t have people from different households and be at 20% capacity?
This is the left loosing attempting to hold power. They believe this will help show their strength over us. They are destroying themselves

I will be walking, hiking, and beach walking without my mask. Period. If the police want to come all the way up a mountain to arrest me. So be it. Whoever reports me? Too bad. Deal with it fascists.

I don’t wear a mask except in stores. when I go to calls, and they complain,(only three morons ever have) I give them a choice- they can wait for some other company to come help them, or they shut up, and stand their safe distance nonsense away from me.

I keep a cheap paper mask in my car to enter stores, etc requiring a face diaper. I have written “HOAX” in large letters across the mask and always keep it down on my chin. I do get “stern looks” - mostly from clueless young adults expressing their displeasure.
Anyone know what the normal (that is, pre-“COVID”) ICU occupancy is? Something tells me it’s under 15%, without even bothering to look it up.
I have had a run in with a Comrade Karen at the office.
This person has a history of flipping out on people and getting others in trouble with HR and management. Karen is a hardcore Bernie-bot.
I have cut this Karen so many breaks that the rest of the MIS department never have. This person had some really bad things happen in earlier years. I’ve had my share and sometimes a person cutting me a break or tiny bit of understanding would go such a long way. I try to treat people like I want to be. Essentially a person.
Anyhow I made 3 trips to that person’s office, did the distancing dance, used sanitizer as Karen wanted, ignored most of her inane chatter. All seemed well and good.
The next day I got a call from the leader.
Karen went to the useless safety yo-yo manager and complained that I ignored her demands to wear a mask. I would if she wanted, knowing her history. No one else at the office cares. I keep mostly to myself anyway. The leader has had many run ins with Karen before. Amazingly enough even the safety idiot wasn’t interested in giving me grief. He’s the type to drive people insane over the smallest thing. Real or not.
From now on, Karen is treated as radioactive. Nothing will be done unless in writing, no phone calls accepted. She wants something done, she leaves her office. I have the support of the leader. Technically I’m not supposed to accept phone calls any more. It’s a relief.
