I agree, but was just suggesting using something hardwired in the text of the law. Once an exception is granted, it tends to broaden. We are not in a place right now that the right to stand outside, breathing air is recognized.
For the record, I go without a mask, and have never given religion or health as a reason. I simply say, "I do not wear a mask." Not once have I ever been asked why. I am either told that I cannot be where I am (usually a business) without a mask, or an accommodation is made. I have just decided that since I am not in a position of authority, I can only push back visibly, so that others who are complying without liking it know they are not alone, and to give businesses a story to bring to the politicians. (I write my own letters too).
