Dealers probably remember the Cadillac diesel engine fiasco years ago My Mom had a diesel Cadillac Seville. Beautiful looking car, but if you floored it, it billowed out a black cloud of exhaust behind it like a WWII destroyer taking evasive action. That did work well to discourage tailgaters, however.
