For all the Thunderbird lovers out there, do you find it increasingly difficult to use because the updates won’t let you use older plugins?

I have Thunderbird on my Linux drive, but I had to stop it from updating so that my plugins would continue to work. It sucks that the more the programmers update it, the more it “doesn’t” work. Geez, sounds like MicroThief!
