Roberts will do everything he can to avoid having to make a decision on the election. All he cares about is protecting the “institution of the Supreme Court”.
It’s a miscalculation though. If the SC fails to step in now, they will have permanently destroyed much of the country’s respect for that “institution”, since they’ll have proved once and forever that they are just politicians playing games like all the rest.
