How many cities were burned in Kansas in 1860? 50 to 60 people were killed and around a few hundred injured altogether over six or seven years from 1854. We’ve had at least half as many killed and many thousands injured this year (just one year) and far more property damage. ANTIFA being bussed around to instigate riots, cops being assaulted and shot, some killed and thousands injured. Threats of political violence and an attempt to overthrow our government. At least, in 1860, neither side was trying to overthrow the US government.
Giving the bad guys what they want so they don’t hurt you is pragmatic sometimes, like when you are significantly weaker, but from a position of strength, it is rank cowardice. You don’t get to give away the country, and that is literally what you are suggesting.
