social security is backed up due to covid, lots of people 62 and above has lost jobs, and applied for benefit, like me, i finally will get mine this month.. after 5 months
It's not a benefit. It is money due you as you have paid into it your entire working life, unless you worked under the table. Still, you can file for an amount according to your deductions from your paychecks. Yes, I know it's a lousy system.
