Considering dogs don’t have a frontal cerebral cortex(where complex thinking and empathetic emotions come from) that’s a pretty amazing feat to be able to understand what a dog is ‘saying’’.

Most of my frontal lobe was destroyed in a near fatal head injury when I was 20.
[I was not even expected to live, let alone be at all cognizant or intelligent, anymore...i.e. “a vegetable”]

Many, many MRIs and years later, it has not “grown back”.

My complex thought processes are intact and my empathetic emotions are nearly a crippling curse.

I don’t think “experts” understand brains like they wish they did.

All those years ago, I spent a lot of time having “top neurologists” yelling at me, telling me “You can’t possibly be doing this/that!”
