The question is: what is the tripwire for the counter-coup. Right now there is no standing armed conspirators.. they too are using the levers of government to overthrow the popular vote
The tripwire for the counter coup is stealing an election. It does not matter that they are not armed and out in the streets. They have chosen a governmental power route to execute the coup.
No military person accepts the terms of the enemy as far as how the battle must be conducted.
I would ask you, in Venezuela, when was it ok to use force to go after Chavez?
Any SERE experience tells you that the best time to escape is immediately after capture. The deeper we go into the coup government, the weaker our powers to resist become.
