This is the third part of a 4 part documentary on the life and times of Mr. and Mrs. Reagan. In this chapter they leave most but not all of the racism behind to show how he was a tool of industry, a union busting, regulation destroying corporate shill masquerading as a man of the people. And the people, of course, because they are stupid sheep who really need compassionate Democrats to lead them, ate it up and voted against their own self interest. They note how the Middle Class was destroyed, budget cuts were made at the expense of the poor and the wealth gap grew by leaps and bounds. They even had a little blurb at the end on how the top 1% of the country now control 90% of the wealth.
Naturally what they failed to note was that these trickle down corporate pigs did most of their trickling down in America. It wasn't until Reagan was long gone that NAFTA was passed, jobs went overseas by the millions, China was let into the WTO, jobs went to China by the millions and multinationals who didn't give a damn about the country that spawned them put their money wherever it could benefit the owners the most. Nobody even dreamed there would be people with the kind of money of a Zuckerberg or a Bezos when the Reagans were around.
Of course there was the obligatory appearance by the poster child of ingrates, Ron jr, again putting his folks down plus contributions from such staunch Conservatives as Lesley Stahl and Mike Wallace.
Once again I have to recommend it because A) you know it's going to be a hit job so it's easy to ignore it and just concentrate on the rare footage, and B) it's good to know that RR still lives in the heads of these cretins after all of these years. I drink their tears of anger and dismay.
We are being subjected to a tidal wave of communist propaganda BS in America. This is to levels the USSR never dreamed of.
The original FTA negotiated between Reagan and Mulroney was beneficial to both nations. It lowered pointless tariffs and opened up cross border trade. The Xlintoon NAFTA brought Mexico into the agreement, and treated Mexico as an equal partner, even though there is little commonality between their economy and the economies of Canada and the United States.
Though it was a way to start the exodus of jobs from the two larger economies.
