Like you I think, I have had several ankle and foot injuries (and knee) over my life. Mine have been at a level of severity such that I’ve never needed surgery or crutches.

Age though does creep up and now I need to wear elastic knee and ankle supports with increasing frequency and it’s pretty much mandatory if I am doing long distance or rough ground walking. Another decade or two I wouldn’t be surprised if a cane becomes a routine tool.

Biden strikes me physically as an old man with some normal old man physical changes. Either he won’t admit it to himself or tries to fake his way around this march of time. I go for the faking.

When it comes to a walking cane, you might want to consider a Bavarian walking stick. I've asked my kids to get me one for Christmas:

I don't need much to be happy at Christmas. My goddaughter usually gives me new Gonzaga apparel, my grandson gives me a coffee cup with pictures of us from the previous year, etc. I'm looking forward to a cup from my 6 MO granddaughter.
