Some of you have more faith in the Republican elites than I do. If they really worried about hackable machines, but there were poison pills in the Dem bill, then they should have proposed their own bill. The Senate could pass it and put the Dems on the spot.
Instead, the GOP message was that there was no proof of any problems with the machines – exactly what we’re now hearing from the left in response to Sidney Powell’s lawsuits.
I agree with tinyowl: Much of the Republican Party is also corrupt.
It has not entered my stream of thought that Republicans are exempt from corruption. They are not exempt, however, from true justice.
Your point would carry weight if it pertained to Republicans of two or more years ago when the remnants of Ryan and Boehner were living in yesteryear. But this vote was late last year 2019 when fresh Republican voices came forward to dominate the dialog with the likes of Nunes, Gohmert, Jordan, Gaetz, Collins, Stefanik and many others.
It’s a new roster, the corrupt GOP members are gone or low profile. Same in Senate, Burr is a ghost, Graham feels the heat, Rand is fully on board, Cruz knows he better play fair, and McConnell acts as the slick parliamentarian that he is.
Yes, there are GOP pols in on the corruption but overall it’s a different ballgame.
