Saw all those.

Visiting with a tour group has advantages if you’ve never been there. There are disadvantages, though.

Our bus passed quite a few museums I wished we’d been able to visit, and there were locations where I wish we could’ve spent more time.

So, two years later, I went back by myself. I took the ferry to Cherbourg and rented a car. I was able to visit where I wanted, when I wanted, as often as I wanted, for as long as I wanted. I confined my travels to Normandy only, and spent ten days exploring. And I got to visit all the museums. There are quite a few. The best part of the trip was being completely alone in the Cemetery for almost an hour early in the morning. It was unforgettable.

Two years after that, I spent ten days in Bastogne.

I went back to Normandy a year later and found more out-of-the-way battle sites. If it wasn’t so difficult to post pictures on FR, I’d post pictures.

I am just glad I went in 2018, 2019 was the 75th Anniversary and was insanely more expensive and now 2020 every thing is cancelled and who knows when it’s coming back

Spent a lot of time in Normandy. Bastogne too.

At the end of Crossroads, Easy Company going into the forest at night, I have to stand.
