If I put myself in the shoes of the democrats planning this - the technical planers - they thought of these things. I think there is no audit trail from the machines/software because you can do whatever the hell you want with software especially if connected to Mr. Internet ... and then as for the ballots -> once removed from envelops, they are 'just pieces of paper with ovals'.
So how to audit? How to retrace what actually happened?
If the machines weren't connected to the internet except to upload patch fraud software, then nothing could have observed the machines at the time of the machine fraud.
So where is the fingerprint? The DNA? The trail?
Of course, maybe someone has it. But I HAVE to think the democrats thought all of this through ... that there very well could be inspection after the fact, and so they at least tried to design, intelligently if evilly, a perfect crime with no trace. Difficult to do such a thing ... but you just need to:
I'm no expert ... just thinking out loud.
1. make no software/machine audit trail. (doable)Unverifiable = invalid.
2. make no physical ballot audit trail. (doable if the envelops are not connected to ballots or gone)
