Hammerhead worms also house capabilities as freaky as they look. Not only do they secrete tetrodotoxin—the same neurotoxin produced by pufferfish—but All That’s Interesting notes that these creatures have incredible regenerative capabilities. If one were to cut off only 1/300th of their body, for example, that piece would be able to grow back into a full-sized worm.
So how do you destroy an invasive species that can regenerate into multiple forms? Simple—pour a little salt on them.
