Most people on here, and especially the general populace, have no idea the trouble a lawyer can get in by signing a pleading that is unfounded. Rule 11 of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure (and most states) require the signature of at least one lawyer. If the lawyer signs it without having fully vetted the allegations, personal liability from sanctions can be assessed. That is why a lawyer checks and double checks all facts prior to filing.
Rule 11 reads as follows. Pay attention to subsection (b).
