My brother is an electrical engineer with a tech company...maybe 150 employees. Extreme rules have been put in place by HR, and they readily hint (from HR, not the chief) that if you don’t obey the rules...easily dismissed.
Course, the company went and offered up home-office hours to the max. In a whole month, I doubt if my brother has worked more than 40 hours in the building.
The problem here...the virus ‘sticks’ to surfaces and in a cooler environment...they stick longer. So just one single idiot with a group of three....in an area built for 30 employees....could easily go and deliver the virus to the surfaces.
Maybe in a warehouse, or in a tire-shop...you could skip the mask business. But in an office or work-shop...it’s a problem.
1. It’s basically my office. 700 square feet of no one around.
2. Just went upstairs to speak with our boss about our CRM and he wasn’t wearing a mask until 10 minutes into the conversation.
He put his on, I put mine and he gave me a look.
“I’ll wear the mask under certain conditions but believe me, it won’t be on very long” My reply
3. There is no reason I cannot do my job remotely. I am in outside sales and don’t really do anything while I am in my office but chat.
If they are serious about “Covid-19” then they are going to have to look into accommodations for job categories like all the other companies have done.
