My great uncle was a Scout Leader for 35 years. He was a Japanese POW in WWII, family man, naturalist/environmentalist, organized meals on wheels in our town. Was a true patriot and humanitarian. When he died, I estimated 1000 people were at a memorial ceremony held at the local scout camp. The group of his past scouts in attendance included State Supreme Court Judges and Congressmen.
