“President Trump, his advisors, election campaign, lawyers failed to get ahead of the use of DOMINION and ban it’s use in elections.”
Trump failed with his transition. He and his transition chief, Chis Christie, failed to identify, vet, and have ready loyalists to be appointed to cabinet positions the day after the election. While campaigning Trump bragged about his rolodex of great businessmen wanting to come to Washington. It turned out his corporate community rolodex was empty, with the exception of Wilbur Ross. Since he didn’t have a cabinet ready to go on election day, he had to fill jobs with Republican establishment hacks. Sessions as Attorney General, turned out to be the worst. Trump failed again the second time appointing Barr, another establishment creature. The same at the FBI with Wray.
Essentially the DOJ and FBI remained in control of the permanent bureaucracy during the Trump years. The FBI and DOJ should have been investigating Dominion and voter fraud. With Sessions/Barr in control of the DOJ, and Comey/Wray at the FBI, there would be no investigation or effort to prevent voter fraud or prosecute corrupt election officials at the state and local level. Establishment dominated GOP state legislatures and governors also had no appetite for seriously investigating voter fraud.
There are four critical appointments for a new president - Chief of Staff, Secretary of State, Secretary of Defense, and Attorney General. Trump failed miserably with his first choices for all four positions. He failed again the second time with Chief of Staff (Kelly was #2), Defense (Esper was #2), and Attorney General (Barr was #2). Without effective and loyal people in the critical jobs during his first term he was a one man show. Yes he accomplished much but he could not consolidate his position without strength below him. If he does not prevail in convincing the Supreme Court of widespread election fraud, objective historians will point to his failure to put a strong team in place before the inauguration as the failure point that brought him down.
Consider what could have been with Mark Meadows as the first Chief of Staff, Pompeo as first Secretary of State, Sydney Powell as first Attorney General, and Miller as Secretary of Defense.
Very well stated. Chris Christie suggested Wray as FBI. Chrissy also lead his debate team. Then President and many other Republicans get COVID. Was it the Rose Garden Barrett that Saturday where they all were infected or at the debate meetings? Then Chrissy yesterday telling President to concede.
I knew Barr would be bad when it came out Mueller and his wife were best friends with Barr and his wife.
