Shingles was, by far, the worst experience of my life. The pain was worse than knee surgery...and it gets worse at night when you need to sleep.
To top it off, opioids are PROSCRIBED by any corporate doctor. NSAIDS only.
For me it lasted a full 7 weeks and after 9 weeks has not completely cleared.
One of them has already had shingles & was miserable while it lasted. His didn’t last as long as your episode, which sounds like it hasn’t totally ended yet. I don’t know why he didn’t go back ... figured he’s press his luck, I guess.

Were you on acyclovir? That cleared it up real quickly for me.
You may want to try BHT which will put he herpes virus into remission and also gets rid of shingles. I have been taking it off and on whenever the need arises for about thirty years and have not had the flu, works the same with the family of corona viruses.
