You would think business would be brisk with all the stay at homes looking for a new hobby / develop skill??

In 2017 two of us offered to teach high school students guitar. No one was interested. They actually perceived the notion that they would ever want to as strange. They are LISTENERS and consumers, they don’t see a need for them to learn to play when you can download or stream everything.
That was a small school so there’s that. But it was as if the “need” to sing or play music has atrophied.
Do you see anyone play the guitar other than churches? The ones playing there are older.
I would consider a keyboard as more being more rewarding and having more flexibility.
Oddly, he gravitates towards Surf - which is more from my era - but he's doing great in other forms of folk and rock.
But what we discovered is there aren't any guitar parts for the new stuff. Have you heard any of that stuff called "music" lately?

Spot on. Young kids today are lazy.Too much effort to learn to play. Why numerous HS across the country have 1/2 the band members they had 40 years ago.
