I was a counselor at a crisis pregnancy center and seen this happen more than once. One girl who grew up in a dysfunctional home was living with her boyfriend since she was 17. She became pregnant and her boyfriend said if she didn't get an abortion she couldn’t live with him. She continued to come for encouragement saying she did not want the abortion but she had no place to go. Her mom was in prison and dad was abusive. We talked her into having her boyfriend bring her in. The directors husband came up to the center and talked to him. When it was all said and done he was scared because he just lost his job. We suggested he join the military and told him how much we enjoyed being stationed in Hawaii. He did. Years later she sent me a picture of their family of 4. They were stationed in Hawaii at Schofield army base (If I remember right). We were stationed at Pearl Harbor Subbase a few years before that. One of the happy stories at our center. Thanks be to God.

A 17 year old girl on probation came to tell me she was headed to get an abortion. I finally asked if someone was waiting for her; had she changed her mind; and was she afraid to tell them. She said yes to all three questions. I told her to go home, and think about it. I saw her two years later when she brought the baby in. I saw her about a year ago, and she told me the young man with her was her son. Nice looking kid. She works everyday in our small town. We always speak and say hello.
