Does anyone else actually read "assault" weapons ban proposals?

I did, and learned that a Ruger 10-22 is an "assault" weapon if it has an adjustable stock, but not if it doesn't.

I also found that a S&W Victory 22 is an "assault" weapon because of the threaded barrel. Now I want to buy one and mount a flower on the thread protector. I envision my future assault weapon looking something like this:

Obviously a weapon of war. The horror.

In Washington State I’m pretty sure that a Marlin .22 is an “assault weapon”. It has the tube fed magazine that can hold more than 10 rounds of ammo.

I wonder, with the tube magazine being a permanent feature of the rifle - will the gun tax be $200 plus an additional $200 for the magazine?

Also - this “tax” (on stuff folks already own) - is this a one-time feature or an annual thing? I’m guessing a one-time thing.

That will soon morph into an annual (and $300 tax next year.)
