It is my understanding that any “recount” will simply be running the ballots through the same counting machines.

Hardly and audit.

No, that wasn't the process in Georgia. The 100% hand recount audit was to audit the counting machines, thus they were not tabulated through the same counting machines. Yes the same ballots, no on how they were counted. Thus the ballots weren't audited but the counting machines were.

No one likes to hear it but the machine counts held up and there was no machine fraud exposed in Georgia. If there had been machine fraud, especially as extensive as 94,000 votes or some of the other counts thrown out there for Georgia, the hand recount audit would have exposed that.

It would be nice to shine some light on the signature matching question, especially before the Senate runoffs coming up January 5, 2021.

I agree with this.

Hand recount does indicate a pure machine at least at that point. It is of considerable concern that those machines were never attached to a network post election.

If they were, they could be reprogrammed to count fairly, vs not fairly during the initial count. Or with a thumbdrive if not networked.

One would think the machine has a record of updates stored within.

I was a Poll Monitor. There was no way that you could see if the election drones were counting ballots correctly.
