Slavery was not something America invented...slavery existed on these shores before white Europeans ever arrived. It was an evil that existed in the world that America was in at the time.
One of the things unique about the founding of the United States was not the existence of slavery, but the strong levels of opposition to it from the very beginning...a position that ultimately won the argument entirely. Indeed, it never existed in most of the country.
But the Left must lie about that, just like they must lie about everything else, because reality itself stands in opposition to their worldview on every single issue.
Why make this complicated?
“all men are created equal”
Oh, I guess we evolved into this systemic racis’ white man’s land then. YUGE /S.
Multiculturalism and diversity are cancer.
The idea that the Electoral College was designed to protect slavery is ludicrous. The Electoral College was designed to protect small states from domination by the large states. At the time of the writing of the Constitution, Virginia was the most populous state, the “California” of the era. A popular vote for President would have benefited the slave states, especially if “slave” votes were counted. One important note: The secret ballot was not adopted until almost a century after the Constitution. Votes were registered by petitions for particular candidates.
The 3/5 ths clause was designed to prevent slave states from having an undue influence on the government.
Oh yah... Well I support “the truth over fact’s”!
And I suppose all you Freeper’s don’t believe Obama holds the “popular vote” in his special thumb drive, in his pocket either!
Bunch of right wing, brainwashed, group think, drones...
