Thatcher’s biggest mistake was the same as Reagan, being too trusting of the “Deep State Snakes” that slithered their way into her/his administrations....

Thatcher tried to be the Ronald Reagan of the UK, but the nation had been so steeped in socialism since Ramsey MacDonald in 1931 that even the Conservatives could only claim to be better managers of the welfare state than Labour.

The Iron Lady was a bridge too far for the Tories. Even today the Tories can't do anything more than try to be better managers than Labour.

They need Nigel Farage and a new party.

I agree. It’s clear those BBC lackeys that write this stuff don’t like the monarchy but they really hated Thatcher. So, they made the Queen look like an SJW on South Africa and Thatcher like an apartheid supporter. What they don’t mention is the Soviet Union, and how the ANC would have made South Africa and its mineral wealth an asset of the Soviets if they were allowed to take over. Once the Soviets were out of the picture, SA was allowed to liberalize. Just like the Philippines, Taiwan and South Korea.
