As a retired person with a paid-off home mortgage, the Green New Deal presents a serious threat to the inheritance I want to leave my children. It is quite possible that the GND would force me to re-tool my home with all sorts of “green” modifications (solar panels, no gas furnace, new roof, extra insulation, and so on) that I would have to take on $100,000 or more in new debt.
If you have a single-family detached home, you are already in their sites; they want to do away with such things (including the privacy they provide).
This isn’t a new push, but it is gaining traction since so many Western jobs were sent to Asia; how do they deal with billions of people working 60+ hours per week who want their own cars, homes, and CHILDREN?
