Isn’t there? FBI HRT agents used to deploy to Afghanistan, Africa and wherever else alongside military special operations, until about 2012. DEA had teams cycling through deployments to Afghanistan and South America for years as well, at least until 2015.
I don’t really know what such agents would be, if not “special operations.”

Now we have a new Dept of Spec Ops with a civilian chief
