Here in Washington State, we've had a mask mandate for six or more months, and a total shutdown (in the spring) of about three months. From May to mid-June, we had between 100-300 new cases per day. Then - like many states - we had a mid-summer peak. Then in Sept, cases went down again to 300-600 per day. For the past ten days or so, we've had between 1,700-3,400 new cases per day, the most ever.

Oregon has been even stricter than Washington, and back in the Spring they only had 50-80 new cases per day. In the last ten days, it's been 700-1,100 cases per day. If masks are supposed to stop the spread of the virus, they didn't work. The only possible argument is that without them it would be worse, but that's just a hypothetical.
