Even when things are most grim, people always seem to want to think that they will get out of it somehow. The whole “if I cooperate a little bit longer, something will come along and stop this” thing.

Having observed human behavior for a good number of years, and especially how people are behaving in these latter times, which are rife with blatantly obvious lies and corruption, I have come to the conclusion that the majority of the population are people that simply CANNOT act on their own initiative. They must follow someone. So, lacking a person to tell them to stand up and fight or die on their feet, and having only people ordering them to kneel, they kneel.
