This afternoon, I joined my colleagues in calling for a full, independent audit of the recent election prior to the certification of results. We have seen a number of allegations that range from outright fraud, if true, to terrible mistakes that need to be corrected. pic.twitter.com/H2EYwmKo6e— Aric Nesbitt (@aricnesbitt) November 16, 2020

In August, 72% of Detroit absentee precincts didn't match the votes cast. The Wayne Co Board of Canvassers asked @joeclynbenson to investigate. Benson has not responded to the canvassers with results of an investigation. https://t.co/c6gzIVwPTL— stusandler (@stusandler) November 17, 2020
This was tweeted Monday 11-16-20. Haven’t heard a thing about this until now. Tells me the MI SoS ignored him.

Thank you Mr Nesbitt!!
As such, and due directly to these issues, we are requesting that the secretary of state authorize a full, independent audit to be conducted to investigate each of the accusations listed above prior to the certification of any results. This independent audit should aim to achieve completion in a timely manner, certainly before Dec. 8, so that Michigan can fully participate when the electoral college meets on Dec. 14. The chief priority of this audit, however, should be to verify that our election law and processes were correctly administered and identify any illegality that may have taken place.
