That’s the way my daughter was before she met her husband at age 21. We all joked that we wanted to tell the new BF he’d only last 6 months and not to get too attached. This guy was different though and they seemed happy. He doesn’t have a temper AFAIK; he’s more of a gentle giant so I think he’d hurt himself rather than anyone else.

He’s on a weekend getaway with the guys, including my other SIL who drove them, so hopefully he’ll be with him when he reads the letter. They’re really close and he can help him through this.

I love my daughter dearly, even though I don’t understand her most of the time. Of course I want her to be happy, but I also hate to see anyone get hurt in her elusive quest for “happiness.” I don’t call that interfering; I call it parenting, no matter her age. She’s gonna do what she wants to do and always has. My job is to make her think before she jumps from the fat into the frying pan.

Thank you for your prayers and understanding.

Unfortunately, our daughter didn't get over ending her long term relationships and marriages until she was in her 30s. She had a talent for reeling in guys who were quite nice which was a little surprising to me. You always hear all of these horror stories about men but she managed to screen them very well.

The sad thing about our daughter is that she always seemed to feel that she could do better. Looking back at all of her men... her first husband who fathered her oldest son really was the best of the bunch... best looking, best family, and most successful.
