I hear what you are saying. I can proudly say that I didn't vote for Bush Senior exactly because he was an ex-director of the CIA. (To many skeletons in his closet.)
I have listened to Steele's coming out and exposing his former employer, the CIA. At that time I said to myself, "There is a good man who definitely has a price on his head. Regardless, he went ahead anyway."
Today, I can only repeat myself, "There is a good man."
