Agreed. I work for the state government; been here over 30 years.
In 2008, we had our very first buyout of state employees. Then we had another buyout in 2015.
And now there’s a third one. Didn’t get an offer in the past 2 buyouts. I *might* get one this time since I’ve got the service for full pension now, but my knowledge is very specialized and not something that’s quickly transferred.
My manager already told me when the news first broke a few months ago that there could be a buyout, that I would NOT be identified to receive an offer! LOL Which is fine with me; I’m planning on retiring in 2025.
