The plane appeared to have hit multiple parked vehicles, which caught fire, Sky5 aerial video showed. LAFD initially said the flames had spread to a structure, but later stated that the blaze made it as far as the vegetation and trees, and that crews were able to protect the residence.

I am here at WHP, this was a Cessna 206 Civil Air Patrol plane that was about 200 yards short of the runway, looked like he stalled it low and slow.

In the 1980’s I used to sit in my car doing paperwork watching planes land there.

I remember Pacoima being heavily Mexican in the 1970s.

This likely was a stall/spin on final, one of the greatest killers in general aviation.

I too used to spend hours in my car doing paperwork during the 1980s by a small airport. This one was up in Tewksbury, MA. I think they ended up building a condo community there.
Those were the days. Before cell phones. I would visit clients all day and then spend an hour or two between about 3 to 5pm getting my paperwork done in the car while listing to the Chuck Harder Show while private planes landing passed just 50 feet over my car.
Nice memories.
