It isn’t just that they do this (and they clearly do), but when you point this out to them they either deny it or have some rationalization for it (usually along the lines of, “You Nazis deserve it” - which I find rather ironic and infuriating because my family had somewhere north of 70 people murdered by the Nazis). I always point out that if anyone in the conversation is acting like a Nazi it is them, and that they need to seriously reconsider the path that they’re on.
Of course, now they have the Trump Accountability Project, which is as Nazi-like of an endeavor as we have seen in this country since we forced about 120,000 Japanese and American citizens of Japanese descent into concentration camps (which are very bad, but still quite distinguishable from the death camps run by the Nazis). As a reminder, all interned there has been forced to divest their homes and businesses within a very short time, so they effectively had their property seized because they couldn’t get anything close to full value - I know this because my father went to school with a guy whose father lost a life roof hard work by being forced to sell his house and dental practice for pennies on the dollar - this, just a short time after the Depression ended. The TPA seeks to do essentially the same thing (and, perhaps, quite a bit more - the fact that they aren’t saying to execute Trump supporters for the “crime against humanity “ of backing Trump doesn’t mean that they don’t WANT to do that - they are, after all, totalitarians).

The real fact is that the red agents of influence had effectively infiltrate movie unions, writers, and Screen Actors Guild fully supported by FDRs advisers to promote solidarity with Soviets during WWII.
Read Reagan about how patriotic actors had to meet in secret to formulate overthrow of SAG leadership. IIRC, he and others felt the need for concealed carry to protect against red union goons.
Dalton Trumbo, the much touted martyr to McCarthy's Army Senate Hearings and HUAC was a self admitted card carrying communist thatbpleaded the Fifth. His rehabilitation in Hollywood was a clear sign of the proggie return ofbHollywood control.
