1 - Election day is a National Holiday.
2 - Vote in person with photo ID.
3 - Only exception to voting in person is Military service and travel overseas during the election or hospital stay.
What about those in nursing homes and other elderly or disabled that can’t get out. Absentee Vote is critical and should be allowed for all of these.
4 - No early voting or vote-by-mail AT ALL.
Outside of #3 you nailed it.
No felons vote unless pardoned and all restitution paid/time served
Anyone on welfare cannot vote
Anyone convicted of any type of fraud/deceit if misdemeanor cannot vote
Anyone who has limited mental function or on certain psychotropic drugs, or has been involuntarily committed cannot vote
Anyone who abuses controlled substances or more than 3 DWIs in 7 years cannot vote
Anyone diagnosed with dementia/alzheimers or other disease of the mind
anyone convicted of any polling or election fraud, however minor
We must keep mentally ill and dishonest people from voting.....not just felons.
Hospital stay covers nursing homes. I was shooting for simple, not a 1000 page legal document covering every possible scenario.
