Florida did a required cleaning of voter lists over the last two or three years.
Dead removed, double registrations, felons, and illegals.
I can’t say they caught them all, especially in the southeastern section of the state (Miami/Dade, Palm Beach, and Broward Counties), but pretty clean.
All mail in ballots are “absentee” and must be requested. The signature on the ballot must match the one on file. Dems sued to change this two years ago but lost.
Unfortunately I have alway worried about voter drives of the homeless and illegal residents.
It’s easy for these groups to use one address for those registered, copy the registration document, and request an absentee ballot, and then copying the signature onto the ballot and submitting it.
I want us to go back to where you could only request an absentee ballot for a valid reason you could not vote either during the two week early voting period, or on election day.
I can’t understand why with two weeks of early voting, (even on the weekends), why we would need absentee ballots, except for those out of state, out of country, or the homebound.
